Since 1960, the Edmund J. Gleaser School of Education has been centered around you, the student. The School of Education enriches student lives at four undergraduate sites, offers both online and traditional, face-to-face instruction, and sends future educators around the world, helping them get hands-on field experiences from New Zealand to Jamaica.
The School of Education has received praise from around the country for its commitment to educational technologies (including using portable iPad labs), its student engagement and faculty credentials. The prestigious U.S News World Report 2013 rankings placed Graceland Online Bachelor Programs as No.5 in the country and its Graduate Education programs received No. 11 rankings. The online program was also recognized by TheBestSchools.org as No. 8 in its Top 25 Online Teacher Education Programs, stating that Graceland is very affordable; and calling the University a pioneer in distance learning.
Sound too good to be true? Here’s what our students and graduates say:
“The liberal arts aspect of Graceland has been incredibly valuable; it prepared me for things I never knew would come my way. I left Graceland with a diversity of skills which allowed me to be flexible in a variety of settings.”

“With Graceland's small classes, you really get to know both your professors and your classmates. For me as a future teacher, it’s great to have close peer connections, even just to bounce ideas off my fellow educators. It’s also great to have those close connections with my professors; they’re an excellent resource and they honestly care about my success as an educator.”

Thanks to you and your wonderful staff and university. I am truly a better educator just by my lessons learned while at Graceland University. You have given me opportunities that ring true of your ethos…that you care for your students, and hence empower us to do the same. Luis Caraballo |

Furthering my education at Graceland University has put me one step closer to becoming National Board certified. It was the curriculum which is geared towards the propositions supporting the National Board for Professional Teaching that was the deciding factor for me to pursue the Masters in Education – Curriculum and Instruction at Graceland University. Also, Graceland kept the working professionals in mind with the program’s flexibility and practicality. The professors and leaders within the program have provided real-world insight and theory that bridge the gap between classroom learning and everyday teaching. The knowledge I am gaining from the professors and guest speakers has directly influenced my professional life.
