Lamoni, IA -Graceland University Head Track & Field Coach Kent Allshouse is very excited and proud to announce that Brittani Chaney of Garland, Texas has committed to attend Graceland University beginning the spring of 2009.
"I cannot begin to express how excited I am to have a talent like Brittani joining our team this year. She is a tremendous athlete with a strong passion for the sport and brings a wealth of experience in the multi-events. There is little doubt in my mind that Brittani will be a positive addition to the Yellowjacket's team and will be very successful at the conference and national level." said Coach Allshouse.
As a heptathlete, Brittani was a Junior Olympic Qualifier and placed 13th in the nation at the California meet. She is a 6-time TAAF state qualifier and not only qualified for the national meet, but placed 2nd in the nation in the 100m hurdles at the Colorado meet. Additionally, Brittani was her district's high point award winner her freshman and sophomore years.
In addition to her fantastic athleticism, Brittani possesses a great sense of servant leadership. She enjoys working with disadvantaged and handicapped children and places tremendous emphasis on her faith in god.
Brittani is the daughter of Larry and Lori Chaney and will be a graduate of Naaman Forest High School in Garland, TX in December 2008. She will pursue a degree in psychology while at Graceland.
