Valentines Event Results
Lamoni, IA-The Indoor Track team is putting the final touches on the end of their regular season as they head towards nationals. Freshman Mawale Kapande stole the show again over the weekend qualifying for the NAIA national tournament in her second event, the long jump.
Besides the long jump Kapande also won the 200. Other notables on the women's side, Amanda Batey won the 800 meter run and Angel Iluono finished second in the high jump. On th men's side sophomore Neil Grundman continued his tune-up towards the national meet as he won the 800 meter and the 1 mile run. Rahim Martin finished second in the shot put as well.
The Jackets have only one more meet left before the national tournament. They'll host the HAAC meet next weekend in Lamoni. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the indoor track team and all of Jacket athletics.
