Lamoni, IA-In dire need of a winning streak to start working their way up the HAAC standings, the Jackets faced Benedictine Saturday. Unfortunately for Graceland, the Ravens swept them 1-0 and 8-6.
Game one saw a nothing-nothing tie taken all the way until the seventh inning as sophomore Garrett Grundman (Croswell, MI) threw a great game for the Jackets. The offense couldn't pick him up however and the Ravens tallied a run in the top of the seventh for the 1-0 win. In game two, the bats got going for the Jackets but they were unable to hold down the Raven offense in the 8-6 loss.
The Jackets will get a shot at redemption against Benedictine this Monday in Atchison, Kansas in a 1pm twin bill. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the baseball team and all of Jacket athletics.
