Box Game 1 | Box Game 2
Lamoni, IA-The Graceland baseball teams season is winding down with just a little over 10 games to play. This weekend they're playing a four game Friday/Sunday set with Avila University as they'll try to dodge poor weather all weekend. Friday in Lamoni however, was a gorgeous 70 degree day for baseball.
In game one Graceland jumped all over the Eagles scoring four in the bottom of the first inning. The inning was led by back-to-back homeruns by first Samuel Felman (Guayaquil, Ecuador) who hit a two run shot and then Brian Contreras (San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico) who hit a solo homer. The Eagles would counter however scoring 3 in the top of the second but the Jackets held on for the 6-5 win.
Game two was all Avila as they shutdown the hot Jacket offense winning 6-1.
The Jackets are now 12-26 overall and 11-19 in HAAC play. They'll next head to Kansas City, Missouri Sunday afternoon to finish off the four game set with Avila. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the baseball team and all of Jacket athletics.
