Women's Results | Men's Results
Grinnell, IA-The Graceland men's and women's tracks teams dodged poor, rainy weather Saturday and were able to compete at Grinnell College in the Dick Young Classic. Both teams had a solid showing, the men finishing 7th overall and the women coming in 10th.
The women were paced by long jumpers Mawale Kapande (Mount Pleasant, IA) and Quannika Horne (Lansing, MI) who finished in 2nd and 6th respectively. Kapande's jump of 5.11 meters was only 9 centimeters from the leader. Horne also finished 5th overall in the 100 meter dash.
On the men's side it was the usual suspects leading the Jackets. Neil Grundman (Croswell, MI) won the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:56.76. Other notables on the men's side were James Thomas (Orlando, FL) finishing 6th in the 200, Rahim Martin (Belleview, FL) who won the shot put with a tremendous throw of 43.37 meters and Alex Stewart (Aurora, Ontario) who won another field event for the Jackets taking the javelin throw at 56.92 meters.
