Marshall, MO-The #19 women's soccer team was in Marshall, Missouri this afternoon for their second HAAC game of the season. Facing the Vikings of Missouri Valley, Graceland would have no trouble in the win, dominating Mo Valley in a 5-0 route.
Gisela Arrieta (Valledupar, Colombia) had a big day scoring the first two goals early in the first half. GU wouldn't look back as they rolled to their second conference win in as many tries. Stats are currently not available but will be posted as soon as they become available.
It felt great to get our second conference win of the season and it was even more gratifying since it was another road game," stated Coach Wagenaar from the road trip home. "We played well today. Our defense was strong, we capitalized on our scoring chances offensively and we played aggressively. We're really looking forward to Tuesday's matchup with William Jewell at home. I'm hoping our current momentum can carry us to a win," finished Wagenaar.
The Jackets now stand at 7-1-2 overall and 2-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. As stated, Graceland next faces rival William Jewell in a 5pm matchup Tuesday evening in Lamoni.
