Lamoni, IA-The Graceland women dipped into their reservoir of last minute heroics to defeat the Waldorf Warriors 92-90 in Lamoni. The Jackets' Channel Rainey (Los Angeles, CA) drained a field goal to break a 90-90 deadlock with just four seconds remaining on the clock.
Graceland played a solid game, leading through the evening, but in the final five minutes the Warriors caught up with the cruising Jacket squad, beginning a back and forth duel which made the endgame a contest to remember.
Marisa Rauss (Mansfield, TX) led GU with 26 points on the evening, while fellow senior Keturah Spotwood (Tulsa, OK) notched her second double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
"It was a hard-fought game against a very good team," said Assistant Coach Rich Harrop after the game. "We did the right things at the right times, and we came out on top. That is what you play for," concluded Coach Harrop.
Graceland next travels to St. Louis for a rematch with the Eutectics of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. That game is on Tuesday, November 10th with a 7:00pm start. Stay tuned to the Graceland athletic website for continuing coverage of women's basketball and all Jacket athletics.
