The Power of Faith

The Community of Christ Seminary at Graceland University is shaped by a strong dedication to creating a place of belonging for all people, not just those who look, think and live the way we do. Backed by a solid foundation grounded in Christianity, we believe that faith should be inclusive and welcoming — and we teach all of our courses and concentrations through the lens of this perspective.

Community of Christ Seminary Mission

The Community of Christ Seminary’s mission is to educate and prepare — through prayerful scholarship, teaching, service and mentoring — faithful, creative and discerning leaders for ministries in congregations, church and the world.

“Seek ye diligently, and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning even by study and also by faith.” — Doctrine and Covenants, 85:36

Seminary Students Say It Best
Seminary changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. It provided me with the opportunity to build meaningful and cherished friendships with classmates from across the world and helped me discover who I am as a disciple and how I can use the gifts and talents God has given me to make a difference in my congregation, my community, and in the world. I am forever grateful for this experience.

Seminary Students Say It Best
The MAR program at the Community of Christ Seminary helped me to find that “who am I?” and “what is god’s purpose for me?” I am grateful to God for helping me complete this program and witnessing my authentic discipleship in my congregation, family and in society.

My seminary experience was life-changing. It challenged me, inspired me, and permanently altered how I see and move through our world. The faculty members and program design create a community culture that encourages exploration of both individual and communal beliefs and supports learners every step of the way.
