`48 BETTY THOMAS WELCH, Sun City, Arizona — celebrated her 90th birthday with 18 of her previous students.
`75 RUTH SIEGFRIED, Sewickley, Pennsylvania — was named CEO of the Year by the Pittsburgh Business Times. Siegfried is founder and President/CEO of InVision Human Services, a nonprofit that provides customized treatments and assistance to people with autism and intellectual disability. Launched in 1992, InVision is renowned for its ability to support people with highly complex and often multiple diagnoses.
`97 NIKKI LEWEN, Watsonville, California — released her first novel on Amazon, entitled Three Sisters: A Tale of Survival, from her fictional trilogy series, Three Sisters Trilogy.
`03 MARK WAGENAAR, Valparaiso, Indiana — received the James Wright Poetry Award from Mid-American Review, a longstanding international literary journal at Bowling Green University, for his piece “Psalm XXXI.” Wagenaar is an assistant professor of English at Valparaiso University.
`11TARA SHUPE and COLLIN ISHAM, The Hague, Netherlands — together with a group of friends, completed an expedition to Everest Base Camp in Nepal for the Trek for Girls campaign. Reaching a summit of 18,514 feet, the team of trekkers were met in solidarity with simultaneous treks taking place in other parts of the world to raise funds and awareness for Covenant Children’s Homes, a nonprofit ministry that provides love, education and support to orphaned children in India.
