Anthony Chvala-Smith, Associate Prof. of Religion, and Charmaine Chvala-Smith, Community of Christ Seminary Chaplain, were recently featured as guest commentators on the podcast series A Pastor and a Priest Walk Into a Movie Theater. The series, created and hosted by Rev. Michelle Byerly and Father Andrew Miller (former students of the Chvala-Smiths at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City), explores religious assumptions and implications of popular movies. In their episode, Charmaine and Tony analyzed some theological themes identifiable in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019).
