Professors Brunner, Gabelaia, and McElroy, received an invitation to bring students to the visit first TREK Day hosted by the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce on April 5.  The chamber invited Iowa schools to bring students to Des Moines to showcase their job opportunities in Iowa.  Administrative Assistant, Maddy Martin, helped to organize the 18 CSIT and business students from Graceland who attended the event.  Students were able to meet in person with West Des Moines area business leaders.  The event started with a visit to the West Des Moines RecPlex and a presentation on why the Des Moines area is a great place to be employed.  The 18 students met with six area employers:  IMT Insurance, Sammons, HyVee, Merchants, American Equity, and NICMIC.  The visits to each business provided a good panel discussion and personal interaction for students to talk with business leaders about internships and job opportunities.
