Graceland University Vice President of Enrollment Management Scott Briell is pleased to announce an internal restructure of the Athletics Department designed to create a strong leadership team for athletic success.
Brady McKillip ’00 has been appointed as Athletic Director. Zach Mullins has been appointed as an Associate Athletic Director. Stew McDole ’65 will remain as an Associate Athletic Director.
McKillip has served as Graceland University Assistant Athletic Director since 2009 and head coach for baseball since 2001. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Graceland, and a Master of Arts in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State University. McKillip will remain as Graceland’s head baseball coach.
“The Athletics Department is an integral component of the university, and this is an exciting time for Graceland,” McKillip explained. “I believe Zack, Stew and I can effectively implement the university’s strategic athletic plan. Working hand in hand with Student Life, Admissions, Student Financial Services, the CAP Center, faculty and staff, we will continue to impact students’ lives in and out of the sports arena in ways that support the mission of Graceland.”
“McKillip’s proven leadership at Graceland has been noticed,” Briell commented. “He is a respected, positive leader whose quiet confidence and exemplary work ethic made this an easy choice for me.”
Mullins has served as head coach for Graceland wrestling, re-establishing a strong program from the ground up, since 2013. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management and a Master of Arts in Management with Specialization in Human Resources from Briar Cliff University.
“Graceland athletics can change lives, providing students with inspiration and tools for lifelong learning,” commented Mullins. “I am eager to join Brady and Stew on a leadership team that can make a difference.”
“Mullins’ dedication to his team and his work ethic are evidence to his leadership ability,” said Briell. “This new collaboration of leadership will bring positive and creative solutions to Graceland’s Athletics Department. I look forward to working with them in their expanded assignments.”
