GU Professor Jay Hoffman is shown teaching a class in the athletic training room.
Jason Hoffman was recently appointed as Communications Coordinator for the Mid America Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA). MAATA is a regional organization that represents athletic trainers from states all around the Midwest, and works to enhance professionalism and leadership skills through encouragement, mentoring and improvement opportunities.
Graceland University students can also benefit from this appointment, as Hoffman will sponsor at least one intern who will help to build a process and program from the ground up.
Hoffman and the selected intern(s) will work in collaboration with the MAATA Communications Team to set and guide communication strategies and look for ways to more consistently streamline the organization’s information through print, electronic and social media. The goal will be to consistently articulate the MAATA mission and ensure that it is viewed as a primary source within the National Athletic Trainer’s Associations.
