LAMONI, IOWA (February 26, 2013)—The Graceland University Music Department will host Trombone Day at Graceland workshop on Saturday, March 09, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Trombone Day at Graceland workshop is open to trombone students of all ages.
Trombone Day is geared to increase awareness, education and appreciation for the trombone through concerts, recitals and workshops. Drawing close to 30 students, Graceland Trombone Day workshop invites middle school, high school and university-level students from various states in the Midwest.
The day includes a free trombone choir concert in the Shaw Center’s Carol Hall at 3 p.m.
Clinicians will include Prof. Frank Perez, Director of Bands, Graceland University; Dr. Lee Bash, Music Specialist, Graceland University; and Dr. John Benoit, Trombone Professor, Simpson College.
Rieman Music from Des Moines, Iowa, will bring instruments, books and supplies for students to play and tryout, as well as many books and supplies.
Trombone Day at Graceland is a day of workshops and concerts, sponsored by the Graceland Music Department, the DEKKO “Ignite your Spark” Fund, Rieman Music, the Graceland NAfME (National Association for Music Education) Student Chapter #570.
