GU’s Perez to Conduct Honor Band

LAMONI, IOWA (November 9, 2012)—Graceland University Director of Bands Frank Perez will be the guest conductor of the 2013 West Central Activities Conference High School Honor Band in Earlham, Iowa, on Tuesday, November 13.

More than 80 students from 10 schools in the West Central Activities Conference will gather for a day of workshops and rehearsals. High schools from Van Meter, Madrid, Woodward-Granger, Ogden, Panorama, Guthrie Center, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Earlham, West Central Valley and Des Moines Christian will be represented.

Honor Band musicians are carefully selected as the top student musicians in their program by their high school band director. Perez will serve as this year’s guest conductor and clinician. The day will conclude with an evening concert at Earlham High School at 7 p.m.
