Morten Lauridsen, widely recognized as the foremost American choral composer, will be in residence at Graceland University from Monday, May 5 to Thursday, May 8, 2014. During his time at Graceland, Lauridsen will work in rehearsals and performances with Graceland University Choirs, bands, piano and voice students. Join us in singing together throughout this thrilling musical experience!
Graceland University Oratorio Chorus is a community/student ensemble, led by Dr. Leonardo C. Lebas, open to regional singers, GU students, faculty and staff who are devoted to rehearse and perform choral-instrumental masterworks. In Spring 2014, Graceland University Oratorio Chorus will perform, along with Graceland University Chamber Singers and Concert Choir, the Morten Lauridsen’s masterwork Lux Aeterna. This performance will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Shaw Family Auditorium at Graceland University, under Dr. Lebas direction. Rehearsals will take place on Mondays, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Shaw Center, room 140.
