Graceland University Professor of Education Dennis McElroy was recognized with the President’s Volunteer Service Award at the 2018 International Society for Technology in a Education (ISTE) conference in Chicago last month. This is the second year in a row McElroy has received the honor and was recognized along with approximately 20 others at the silver level designated for volunteers who volunteered 250-499 hours during the past year.

McElroy has served on the leadership team of ISTE’s Teacher Education Network for the past three years and is the editor of their newsletter, which goes to over 4,000 educators worldwide.

ISTE is an organization with over 18,000 members that inspires educators worldwide to use technology to innovate teaching and learning, accelerate good practice and solve tough problems in education by providing community, knowledge and the ISTE standards, a framework for rethinking education and empowering learners.
