Meet Alisha Linam, Graceland’s new Reference and Instruction Librarian. She comes to us from Middle Tennessee State University and has Master’s degrees in library science and history. Alisha is originally from a small town in Alabama about the size of Lamoni, and she’s glad to be back in a tight-knit community after living in the “big city” of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
During the summer break, Alisha is expanding the F. M. Smith Library’s social media presence to keep students updated about new resources and services. Come fall, Alisha’s first priority will be creating a more cohesive instruction system. “I’m going into the classrooms to teach students about our databases and how to get the information they need quicker and easier,” said Alisha. “Courses will eventually have their own LibGuides, which will provide each class with its own personal library website and help students write papers and other assignments.”
