Melinda Leoce Featured on New Album Released in January 2019

Graceland University Instructor of Percussion and Director of Athletic Bands Melinda Leoce, MM

Graceland University Instructor of Percussion and Director of Athletic Bands Melinda Leoce, MM, is featured on a new album, The John Psathas Percussion Project Vol. I, released in January 2019. Leoce, along with 12 percussion colleagues from around the country, recorded the album over the last four years at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. The album features the works of New Zealand composer John Psathas adapted for percussion chamber ensemble by Dr. Omar Carmenates, Professor of Percussion at Furman.

The album has already achieved critical acclaim including this review from Gramophone Records. Those interested in listening and/or purchasing the album can find more information here. The group has already begun recording for vol. II, which will be released in the next few years.
