Jen teaches biology courses that focus on how organisms interact with one another and their physical environments, including animal biology, plant biology, ecology, and environmental biology.
Ecology is a fascinating field, which focuses not just on individual organisms, but on increasing complex levels of organization (populations, communities, ecosystems, and the entire biosphere). Ecological theories help to explain what we observe in the natural world.
I became a biologist because I saw beauty in the patterns of nature, where biological form meets function. Biology allowed me to make sense out of the world around me. As a teacher, I hope to open the eyes of my students so that they appreciate the beauty and significance of the natural world.
