Over the years, Lenz has gained nursing experience in orthopedics, general surgery, medical intensive care and neurology. While she has been employed by an internist in Columbia for the past 20 years practicing family and adult-based medicine, her real passion lies in teaching. She generally precepts 3-4 graduate nursing students from a number of schools (most in Missouri) each semester and loves the opportunity.
She is a family nurse practitioner and works as a primary care provider for adults and children. She is interested in epidemiology, medical ethics and the role of culture in healthcare.
Practicing as a clinician in conjunction with her teaching provides a measure of realism to her curriculum and offers the opportunity to impart important clinical pearls to her students.
