Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Matt is a twelve-year veteran of law enforcement, working as a patrol corporal, police officer, traffic officer, park ranger, and corrections officer. He uses his experiences and training to teach criminal justice to the next generation of criminal justice professionals. Matt is currently working on completing his PhD in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Homeland Security. His dissertation focuses on securing our educational campuses – from elementary to university. This research is in response to the unacceptable number of school shootings this country has endured. Matt was awarded the Medal of Valor by the Missouri Police Chief’s association in 2019.
