Assistant Professor of Nursing

Prof. Jackson teaches Capstone Practicum in the undergraduate nursing program. She enjoys seeing the nursing students grow in their skills, gain confidence, and make a difference in the lives of their patients. Prof. Jackson also teaches Community Health Care and facilitates their clinical experiences in the community, helping students understand the role of the community health nurse as a part of the health care team. Prof. Jackson also leads and teaches Senior Capstone, Current Issues in Healthcare, and Population Health in the RN-BSN program.

Prof. Jackson’s background and primary area of focus is public health, specifically communicable disease, school health, and vaccines. She is a member of the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators, Sigma Theta Tau – Pi Eta Chapter, Association of Public Health Nurses, and is the Northwest Regional Representative for the Missouri Immunization Coalition. In these positions, she hopes to make an impact on public health both locally and statewide.
