Welcome to Graceland.
Welcome to a place where everyone is just that — welcome. Here, we know that college is not just about studying, and the experiences you have outside the classroom are just as important.
That’s why we’re all about creating an inclusive environment and community for anyone who wants to be a Gracelander. No matter what. In fact, our house system is based on one simple, unwavering principle:
“Everyone who is here belongs here just because they are here, and for no other reason.”

At Graceland, you aren’t just placed in a random dorm but become part of a “house.” Each floor of our residence halls has its own house name, symbol, colors and student-elected council, all based around the principles of inclusion, individuality and community.
At Graceland, there is a place for everybody. The built-in house system allows students to have a community the moment they step on campus. Between intramural sports, social activities, ENACTUS (the entrepreneurial leadership program), house activities, the numerous clubs on campus, and the plethora of student leadership opportunities, students will always have the option to be involved and stay busy.
The best part about Graceland is, hands down, my peers and faculty … the amazing courses I get to take, the projects I get to work on, and the community I live in all revolve around the people who make Graceland home for me.
Attending Graceland University was one of the best decisions of my life. Something that attracted me about Graceland University was the cultural diversity. I never felt alone because I was always surrounded by amazing individuals from all over the world. I was able to get my education and learn from other cultures. Graceland tailored me to the man that I am today. Because of my experience at Graceland, I was able to find a career doing what I love. I was also able to make friends who turned into family.
My circle of close friends from Graceland grew quicker and has lasted longer than I could have imagined. I never considered myself very outgoing, but everything about Graceland invites you to grow as a human being.
Graceland is a family in itself. There are so many people in the Graceland community that want you to succeed and will do anything they can to help you accomplish your goals. You are never alone in the Graceland community and to me, that is pretty special.
There’s always something to do on the Graceland campus. Check our student events calendar often to stay in the know.

We’ve got all the classics, like football, basketball, volleyball and softball, but we also throw a few recreational activities into the mix, like Jack and Jill soccer and tape ball.
Our main, residential campus is located about an hour south of Des Moines in Lamoni, Iowa — a small town that’s anything but ordinary.
More InfoLess than 10 miles from downtown Kansas City, you’ll find our urban campus — and home to our school of nursing — located in Independence, Missouri.
